Preparation and analysis of nucleic acids
The genomics department provides tools and assistance for basic genome analysis, including nucleic acid preparation and analysis and real-time PCR. The department is equipped with two universal tissue homogenizers (Precellys®24), a bioanalyzer (Agilent®), a spectrophotometer (Nanodrop®) and five real-time PCR machines (four StepOnePlus™ and one QuantStudio™5).

To access the service, users must be trained by their team's contact person and book each instrument on the C3M intranet. The genomics department pools the maintenance contracts for the instruments. Everything else is the responsibility of the users.
To use the StepOnePlus® real-time PCR machine, users are required to read and comply with the StepOnePlus Machine User Guide.
The Precellys® 24 is a device designed to grind, lyse and homogenize biological samples to extract DNA, RNA or proteins. It has a maximum capacity of 24 tubes of 2 ml.
Two instruments are available.
The Bioanalyzer 2100 (Agilent) is an automated electrophoresis tool used for the quality control of nucleic acids and proteins (size, quantification, integrity and purity). It uses single-use microfluidic chips.
The StepOnePlus™ is a 96-well real-time PCR instrument with a 4-color optical LED recording device.
Four instruments are available.
The QuantStudio™5 (Applied Biosystems) is a 96-well (0.1 ml) real-time PCR instrument. The system allows multiplexing of up to 6 targets.
